Stewards spoke to Mr. P. McColl, the trainer of Spa Doduo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Spa Doduo last raced on 23rd July, 2017. Mr. McColl stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Gray, the handler of Still In Play regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Still In Play last raced on 18th September, 2017. Mr. Gray stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell. Mr. Gray also declared a new weight of 32.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Still In Play last raced at 31.0kg.
Kintamni was slow to begin. Spa Doduo, Spa Primrose and Spa Squirtle collided soon after the start, checking Spa Primrose and Spa Squirtle. Still In Play and Spa Doduo collided approaching the first turn. Spa Doduo and Spa Primrose collided on the first turn, severely checking Spa Primrose. Don's Just Under checked off My Girl Margie approachng the home turn. Spa Primrose raced wide in the home straight.
