Steward's Report
Sienna's Lilly was quick to begin. Hold On Belena and Cullquin Frank were slow to begin.
Hold On Belena and Djays Larry collided soon after the start. Hold On Belena checked off Destini Baby on the first turn, checking Djays Larry as a result. Berridale Buddie, General Romulus and Destini Baby collided on the first turn. Djays Larry and Cullquin Frank collided on the home turn. General Romulus checked off Hold On Belena entering the home straight. Djays Larry shifted out in the home straight and made contact with Cullquin Frank.
Djays Larry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis (back) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Daisley, the trainer of the greyhound Djays Larry, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Djays Larry with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Daisley pleaded guilty to the charge, Djays Larry was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
