The start of this event was delayed by approximately 90 seconds due to a Turffontein race.
A pre-race sample was taken from One More Tom.
Righto Mitch was slow to begin. Galloping Leo and Cookie Rose collided approaching the first turn. One More Tom and Bob's Gift collided on the first turn checking One More Tom and severely checking Righto Mitch and Bob's Gift, Righto Mitch faltered and subsequently pulled up. Cookie Rose was checked off One More Tom approaching the home turn.
Righto Mitch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sutained a fractured right radius/ulna and was humanely euthanased.
