Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hyundai Hawk.
Diamond Vee was quick to begin. Tidelina and Aston Harpo were slow to begin.
Tidelina, Aston Harpo and Allen Gable collided soon after the start. Diamond Vee and Allen Gable collided approaching the first turn checking Allen Gable and Hyundai Hawk. Tidelina checked off Aston Harpo on the first turn. Allen Gable and Hyundai Hawk collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Harpo checked off Diamond Vee on the second turn. Allen Gable and Hyundai Hawk collided on the second turn. Hyundai Hawk eased on the third turn. Broulee Miss and Rebel Lad collided entering the home straight. Hyundai Hawk eased in the home straight.
Hyundai Hawk was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. A revet was declined by connections.
Stewards spoke to Mrs M. Thomas, the trainer of the greyhound Hyundai Hawk regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn and again in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Hyundai Hawk with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Thomas pleaded not guilty to the charge, Hyundai Hawk was found guilty of the charge and suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
