A pre-race sample was taken from Lodge's Express upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling
A pre-race sample was taken from Atlas Roughead.
Wheel And Deal and Silky Strings were slow to begin. Lodge's Express, Petite Senorita and Miss Morrisset collided soon after the start. Lodge's Express and Petite Senorita collided approaching the first turn. Aston Viva and Atlas Roughead collided on the first turn. Petite Senorita and Silky Strings collided approaching the home turn. Miss Morrisset galloped on the heels of Wheel And Deal checking Miss Morrisset and severely checking Miss Morrisset which fell. Aston Viva and Chelsea Drogba collided in the home straight.
Wheel And Deal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a radius fracture and was humanely euthanased.
Stewards charged Mr. D. Geall with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Miss Morrisset.
Stewards inspected the track after the event and passed it suitable for racing.
