Steward's Report
Runaway Jack checked off Winey Bago soon after the start. Get The Gaff and Destini Cheetah collided approaching the first turn, checking Get The Gaff. Tim Riggins, Winey Bago and Simply Good collided on the first turn, checking Simply Good. Tim Riggins checked off Virgil approaching the home turn, checking Winey Bago. Tim Riggins and Runaway Jack collided approaching the home turn. Leachwood Lass eased and collided with Virgil in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms S Vincent, the representative for the greyhound Leachwood Lass, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Leachwood Lass was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Leachwood Lass with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Vincent pleaded guilty to the charge, Leachwood Lass was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
