Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Daisley, the trainer of Djays Larry, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Djays Larry last raced on 20 June 2017. Mr Daisley stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an extended spell. Mr Daisley declared a new weight of 36.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Djays Larry last raced at 34.9kg.

Stewards spoke to Ms S Vincent, the representative for the greyhound Leachwood Lass, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Leachwood Lass was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Leachwood Lass with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Vincent pleaded guilty to the charge, Leachwood Lass was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Jack's Alouette trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 28.5kg. The greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.83, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.75L. Jack's Alouette was cleared.
