Steward's Report
Mr. T. Sharp trainer of Hawk Lady declared a new weight of 26.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hawk Lady last raced at 25.0kg.
Evie Louise and Need A Zac were quick to begin. Hurricane Ben and Hurricane Lucas were slow to begin. Evie Louise crossed to the outside approaching the first turn. Precision Strike eased approaching the home turn and failed to pursue the lure severely checking Evie Louise and It's Her Fate. Hurricane Billie eased on the home turn and failed to pursue the lure severely checking Evie Louise, Precision Strike and It's Her Fate. Hurricane Billie and Hurricane Lucas collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Hurricane Billie, It's Her Fate and Hurricane Lucas.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. V. Sultana the trainer of the greyhound Hurricane Billie regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Hurricane Billie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind foot, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Hurricane Billie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mrs. Sultana pleaded guilty to the charge, Hurricane Billie was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Precision Strike was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent. Trainer Mr. J. Booker declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Booker the trainer of the greyhound Precision Strike regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Precision Strike with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Booker pleaded guilty to the charge, Precision Strike was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)I2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
