Stewards spoke to P Pollutro, the trainer of the greyhound Meehan Phil regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 200m mark.  Meehan Phil was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left pencil muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Meehan Phil with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  P Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Meehan Phil was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Itz Grandeur was a late scratching at 5:34 am, due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre race sample was taken from Weeona Dino.

Weeona Dino and Porscha's Girl were slow to begin.  Porscha's Girl and Yaala collided at the 200m mark and again at the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds.

Porscha's Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor lacerations to the left wrist.  No stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Early Special - second placed in the event.

Stewards issued a warning to D Willcocks, the trainer of Silvagni Cubed regarding the greyhound’s boxing manners.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Talgi, the trainer of Prime Suspect regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Prime Suspect last raced on 29 May 2017. Mr.Talgi stated that Prime Suspect was on season.

Paua To Avoid and Bide Time collided soon after the start.  Print The Money and Quedos collided soon after the start.  Quedos and Aston Dee Bee collided soon after the start.  Paua To Avoid and Hurry Slowly collided at the 200m mark.

Samples were taken from Aston Dee Bee (1st) and Paua To Avoid (2nd).

Splash Of Blue and Our Aqua Blue collided soon after the start.  Leave Me Out and Our Aqua Blue collided at the 300m mark and again at teh 250m mark, checking Leave Me Out, Splash Of Blue and Our Aqua Blue.

Samples were taken from Kouta Mayhem (1st) and Autocrat (2nd).

Banjo Shark and Johnny's Return collided soon after the start.  Chardy and Manila Dawn collided soon after the start, checking Manila Dawn, Weeona Jimmy and Zinzan Brooke.  Chardy checked off Kouta Express at the 200m mark.

Johnny's Return was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Secret Society was a late scratching at 4.06pm, due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Maja Mahi Mahi stumbled soon after box rise and was slow to begin.  Lucky Love checked off Peter Galo at the 300m mark.  Sudoku Flash and Lektra Damage collided at the 300m mark.

5 September, 2017 The 10 day standown period was removed from the greyhound " Got a Motor" on production of a Mechanical Brake Down Certificate. 

Gotta Be You, Nangar Range and Rocky Gee Rocks were slow to begin and collided soon after the start, checking Nangar Range.  Hardaway Outlaw and Signal Peak collided at the 100m mark, checking Hardaway Outlaw.

A sample was taken from Burn Like Fire - the winner of the event.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Blackpool Chuck engaged in this event on 31 August 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.
