Toss The Dice was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left elbow and left metatarsal.  No stand down period was imposed.

Elram Girl was quick to begin.  Weiss Allen, Need A Zac and Champagne Chaser collided soon after the start checking Need A Zac.  Tippa Power, Buckle Up Spud and Delta Bad Hand collided approaching the first turn checking Delta Bad Hand.  Sazana and Champagne Chaser collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Sazana and Champagne Chaser collided on the first turn.  Elram Girl and Weiss Allen collided on the first turn checking Tippa Power and severely checking Elram Girl and Delta Bad Hand.  Tippa Power, Sazana, Champagne Chaser and Need A Zac collided on the home turn checking Sazana and Champagne Chaser.  Sazana and Champagne Chaser collided entering the home straight severely checking Champagne Chaser which fell.  Delta Bad Hand checked off Need A Zac in the home straight checking Tippa Power.

Tippa Power was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abraision to a toe on the left front foot, no stand down period was imposed.

Elram Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle and left hamstring, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Champagne Chaser was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. N. Lund the representative for Buckle Up Spud regarding the greyhound's improved performance.  Ms. Lund stated that the greyhound was having its first start since October and a change of kennels.

Polite Request, Sprint Tee, Jim's Hotel and Dahlhaus were slow to begin.  Chase The Nugget, Aston Groucho and Diesel Turbo collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Groucho.  Chase The Nugget contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Aston Groucho.  Aston Groucho and Jim's Hotel collided entering the back straight checking Jim's Hotel.  Chase The Nugget and Polite Request collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Chase The Nugget was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Vintage Storm and Galaxy Star were slow to begin.  Molly Chapta and Texas Rising collided approaching the first turn.  Galaxy Star was checked off Totally Fab on the first turn and raced wide.  Middle Trucker and Totally Fab collided entering the back straight checking Middle Trucker.  Totally Fab crossed to the rail on the third turn checking Galaxy Star.

Galaxy Star was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A post race sample was unable to be obtained from Johnny Black - winner of the event, a blood sample was subsequently taken.

Chatty Garry and Brindle Bay collided approaching the first turn checking Brindle Bay.  Shep contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  China Catch 'Em, Mr. Pendles and Chatty Garry collided on the first turn checking Chatty Garry.  China Catch 'Em crossed to the rail on the second turn checking Mr. Pendles and Chatty Garry.

Shep was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle and an abrasion to the left hock, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Scenic Miss was quick to begin.  Jimmy Vella and Splash Of Blue were slow to begin.  Gold Odessa, Splash Of Blue, Early Express and Catsford Allan collided soon after the start checking Splash Of Blue and Early Express.  Scenic Miss, Catsford Allan and Gold Odessa collided approaching the first turn checking Gold Odessa.  Scenic Miss, Catsford Allan and Gold Odessa collided on the first turn severely checking Catsford Allan and Gold Odessa, both greyhounds fell as a result.

Catsford Allan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right metatarsal fracture, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Gold Odessa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right thigh, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Gestalt Allen was quick to begin.  Galloping Fantom, Give Away King and Very Choosy collided soon after the start.  Gestalt Allen, Hands To Myself, Galloping Fantom and Smitten collided approaching the first turn checking Hands To Myself, Smitten and Very Choosy.  Nareen and Galloping Fantom collided on the first turn severely checking Nareen.  Hands To Myself tired over the concluding stages of the event.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to Hobart thoroughbred race 4 running behind schedule.

Trov's Gem was quick to begin.  Lunar Shadow crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Bugs Boloney.  Bugs Boloney, Le Sands and No Guarantees collided soon after the start.  Queen Dunroaming and Lunar Shadow collided approaching the first turn checking Queen Dunroaming.  Showtime Sally and Stately Kay collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Bugs Boloney, Le Sands and No Guarantees collided approaching the home turn checking Bugs Boloney and Le Sands and severely checking No Guarantees which fell.  Stately Kay crossed to the rail entering the home straight checking Queen Dunroaming, Bugs Boloney checked off Queen Dunroaming as a result.

No Guarantees was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, an abrasion to the left fibula and soreness in the left shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bob's Gift.

Jetmag Storm was slow to begin.  Cheeky Cindy and Raging Inferno collided soon after the start.  Bob's Gift, Raging Inferno and Cheeky Cindy collided approaching the first turn.  Slippery Parker and Cash Ownley collided approaching the first turn checking Slippery Parker.  Parish Power galloped on the heels of El My Girl on the home turn. Raging Inferno checked off Parish Power on the home turn causing Raging Inferno, Bob's Gift and Cheeky Cindy to race wide.  Raging Inferno and Parish Power collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Howell regarding the direction that the greyhound Cheeky Cindy be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Mr. C. Colaiacovo, representative for Mick Keeping declared a new weight of 35.0 kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mick Keeping last raced at 33.9 kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Stellar Flash.

Iconic Chief, Stellar Flash, Mick Keeping and Double The Magic collided soon after the start checking Double The Magic and Mick Keeping.  Oscar, Stellar Flash, Burnsy's Sam and Vanilla Kiss collided on the first turn checking Burnsy's Sam, Stellar Flash and Mick Keeping.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Jack, trainer of Walt's Star regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Walt's Star last raced on 3rd July, 2017.  Mr. Jack stated that Walt's Star was returning to racing after having surgery to toes on both front feet. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Smith, the representative for Our First Lady regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Our First Lady last raced on 31st July, 2017.  Mr. Smith stated that Our First Lady was returning to racing after a right hock injury and a seasonal condition.

A pre-race sample was taken from Walt's Star.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to Carrick Harness race 2 running behind schedule.

Tom's Gift was slow to begin.  Riccarton, Poison Pen, Jamari Belle, Walt's Star and Miss Pepperoni collided soon after the start checking Walt's Star, Riccarton, Poison Pen, Jamari Bell and Miss Pepperoni.  Walt's Star and Riccarton collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Poison Pen, Walt's Star and Riccarton collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Jamari Belle and Riccarton collided approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jay Robinson, kennel representative of Hey Shaza Fozz regarding the improved performance of that greyhound. Mr Robinson attributed the improved performace to a change of training routine.
