Dyna Benny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left lateral hock. A three-day stand down period was imposed.

Vladimir Rose was vetted and revetted following event five. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle and returned with moderate dehydration. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Midnight Mystery at the trainer's kennels at approximately 8.30am this morning; a post-race blood sample was subsequently collected.

Soda Spike was slow to begin.

Avatar Djay and Mepunga Gal were slow to begin.

Avatar Djay and Mepunga Gal collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn, checking Avatar Djay. Mepunga Gal checked off Dynastic Ruler on the third turn, checking Makikos. Makikos and Mepunga Gal collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Giant Bale and Dyna Danna were slow to begin.

Mossimo Bale and Kouta Gold collided soon after the start, checking Mossimo Bale. Dyna Danna checked off Destini Seahorse soon after the start. Giant Bale checked off Dyna Danna on the first turn. Mossimo Bale and Dyna Jacinta collided on the first turn. Mossimo Bale and Oronsay collided on the third turn. Dyna Jacinta checked off Sienna's Gem on the home turn, checking Mossimo Bale. Destini Seahorse checked off Oronsay on the home turn.

Kwazii, Rimba Sambia and Clovelley Dave were slow to begin.

Ninth Brigade, Rimba Sambia, Kwazii, Clovalley Dave and Mr. Moonlight collided approaching the first turn, checking Kwazii and Rimba Sambia and causing Clovalley Dave to fall. Calabasas checked off Fiery Melody on the second turn.

Clovalley Dave was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right humerousand was humanely euthanised.

A sample was taken from Alannah's Gem, the winner of the event.

Stewards inspected the track immediately after the incident that occurred through the first turn and deemed the surface safe and suitable for racing.

Following the event Stewards directed that Kwazii be vetted. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr S Collyer as Kwazii left the course without being presented to the veterinary surgeon. Mr Collyer was issued a direction that Kwazii must be vetted at a race track within the next 24 hours and would be stood down from racing until a veterinary examination is performed. Mr Collyer advised that Kwazii would be presented at Ballarat tonight for a veterinary examination. An inquiry will be held into the reasons for Kwazii not being presented to the oncourse veterinary surgeon today at The Meadows.

Blue Alcatraz was slow to begin.

Triple Agent and One Plus Two collided soon after the start. Blue Alcatraz, Triple Agent, One Plus Two and Alcyone collided approaching the first turn, checking all four greyhounds. Triple Agent checked off Oshkosh Wayne on the third turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms Kate Gorman, the trainer of Betta Bale, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Betta Bale last raced on 30 May 2017. Ms Gorman stated that the greyhound is new to her kennel. Ms Gorman also declared a new weight of 26.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Betta Bale last raced at 27.9kg.

Good Boy Oscar and Con Rod were slow to begin.

Little Dynamo and Telefork collided several times from soon after the start to the first turn, checking Little Dynamo. Telefork and Maestro Destini collided on the first turn, checking Telefork, Little Dynamo and Betta Bale. Little Dynamo and Telefork collided approaching the second turn. Maestro Destini checked off Betta Bale on the home turn, checking Telefork.

Con Rod tired over the concluding stages of the event and was vetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

China Catch 'Em, Trademark Style and Scrappy Doo collided approaching the first turn, checking Trademark Style and Scrappy Doo.

Spur was vetted and revetted following event eleven. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A three-day stand down period was imposed.

Rocketness was declared a late scratching at 9.25am due to a leg injury (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Clovalley Mauri and Hillside Lady were quick to begin. Lorian Victory was slow to begin.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Stormy Seas trialled over the 525m from box on, weight 26.4kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 30.55, the greyhound won by a margin of 6.5L. Stormy Seas was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Octo Flash trialled over the 525m from box one, weight 27.1kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 30.06, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 24L. Octo Flash was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Alpha Georgiou trialled over the 525m from box three, weight 30.3kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 30.06, the greyhound won by a margin of 10.25L. Alpha Georgiou was cleared.
