Knew It was a late scratching at 5:31pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Just Crystal, Dr. Paulina and Aston Lelani were quick to begin.  Fonty Allen and Spring Ace collided soon after the start checking Spring Ace.  Boom Flash was checked off Fonty Allen soon after the start.  Aston Lelani crossed in approaching the first turn checking Weeona Dino and Dr. Paulina and severely checking Just Crystal.  Fonty Allen, Spring Ace, Weeona Dino and Dr. Paulina collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Dr. Paulina crossed to the rail approaching the home turn severely checking Spring Ace and Weeona Dino.

Bill Heeny, Folding Green and Rayda were quick to begin.  Midnight Marzy and Straitline Willy were slow to begin.  Iona Whiteflash and Dyna Neitz collided soon after the start.  Midnight Marzy and Straitline Willy collided several times approaching the first turn.  Folding Green galloped on Rayda on the first turn checking Rayda and Dyna Neitz; severely checking Folding Green and causing Iona Whiteflash to race wide.

Midnight Marzy was vetted following the event at the request of the trainer.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Scrumble was slow to begin.  Scrumble and Storm Train collided soon after the start and again on the first turn, Scrumble galloped on Storm Train as a result checking both greyhounds.  Secret Message and Baggy's Request collided on the first turn checking Deano's Smidge and Baggy's Request.

Cracking Joe was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mrs. L. Hall was advised that she must seek follow up veterinary attention for the greyhound tomorrow.

Tinderella and Mega Secret were quick to begin.  Paua To Avoid and Wild Angel collided soon after the start.  Black Paws crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Tiggerlong Nosey, Tinderella, Acquainted, Paua To Avoid and Wild Angel.  Tinderella and Mega Secret collided on the first turn severely checking Mega Secret.  Paua To Avoid and Black Paws collided on the first turn.  Tiggerlong Nosey and Aquainted collided approaching the home turn. Tiggerlong Nosey was checked off Wild Angel approaching the home turn.  Acquainted galloped on Mega Secret on the home turn checking Aquainted and severely checking Mega Secret.

Track Curator Mr. M. Bickerdike advised stewards that the track was medium harrowed on Friday 25 August 2017.
