This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected".  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 30.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees.

Stewards spoke to Ms Marien Sullivan, the trainer of Bluegrass Icon, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bluegrass Icon last raced on 18th September 2017. Ms Sullivan stated that she has relocated to Victoria and was awaiting the necessary measures to enable her to resume training.

Lady Simmeron, You Bandit and Bluegrass Icon were quick to begin. Daintree Prinz was slow to begin.

All Inn Baz and Miracle Cherry collided soon after the start. All Inn Baz checked off Miracle Cherry approaching the first turn. Nitro Nicole checked off Spring Shower on the first turn, severely checking Miracle Cherry and Daintree Prinz, and checking All Inn Baz. Lady Simmeron and Bluegrass Icon collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Lady Simmeron and You Bandit collided several times early in the home straight.

Miracle Cherry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound lost a nail on the right front foot. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Serendipity Gold, Broulee Miss and Secret Business collided approaching the first turn, checking Broulee Miss. Serendipity Gold checked off Secret Business on the first turn, severely checking Serendipity Gold and Broulee Miss. Serendipity Gold and Broulee Miss collided approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds; Serendipity Gold fell as a result. Millett and Mahjong Baby collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Racketeer raced wide in the home straight.

Serendipity Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Ms Yvonne Divers, handler of Stoppa Bus, declared a new weight of 32.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Stoppa Bus last raced at 31.3kg.

Reverend John was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right front foot. No stand down period was imposed.

Scoota Flash was a late scratching at 6:12PM (27 December 2017) due to injury (toe) (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Critic was a late scratching at 14:25 on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to diarrhoea. A three-day stand down period was imposed.
