Steward's Report
El Grand Knocka, Gaza's Rooser, Lady Bullseye and Runnin' On Fire collided on the first turn, checking Runnin' On Fire, Flaming Elite and Happy Tails. Patty's Prince and Happy Tails collided on the second turn. Flaming Elite and Runnin' On Fire collided on the second turn. Lady Bullseye checked off Flaming Elite on the second turn. Patty's Prince, Happy Tails and Gaza's Rooster collided on the third turn. Happy Tails and Gaza's Rooster collided several times in the back straight, causing Gaza's Rooster to falter and lose considerable ground.
Gaza's Rooster was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pectoral (chest) muscle and cramping to the hind legs. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Chapman, the trainer of the greyhound Gaza's Rooster. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
