A pre race sample was taken from Pius Thicknesse.
Maximum Magic was slow to begin. Dyna Terror, Dyna Maple, Pius Thicknesse, Dyna Yami and My Girl Josiah collided soon after the start. Pius Thicknesse and My Girl Josiah collided on the first turn. Pius Thicknesse shifted in, raced ungenerously and collided with Dyna Maple several times in the home straight.
Pius Thicknesse was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. I. Cockerell, the trainer of Pius Thickness regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
