Midnight Secret was quick to begin.  Colonel was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Georgie Porgi and American Hustle collided approaching the first turn checking Georgie Porgi and Jetspeed Jade.  Georgie Porgi checked off Dashin Dayz approaching the home turn.  Colonel and Georgie Porgi collided approaching the home turn checking Colonel.  Colonel and Crime Minister collided entering the home straight.

Mella Moo was slow to begin.  Mella Moo and Spin The Trolley collided soon after the start.  Spin The Trolley and Sartori collided approaching the first turn checking Spin The Trolley.  Sartori eased approaching the first turn and collided with Gambler's Loot; Mella Moo, Spin The Trolley and Gambler's Loot were severely checked as a result. Urban Shiraz crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Flash Bobbie which contacted the running rail. Flash Bobbie and Urban Shiraz collided approaching the home turn.

Sartori was vetted and after being re vetted following event 4, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Rhodes, the trainer of the greyhound Sartori regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Sartori with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Rhodes pleaded guilty to the charge.  Sartori was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Taabinga Lady was a late scratching at 11:28am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Y Cassidy, the trainer of Macauliff regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Macauliff last raced on 14 May, 2017 and is returning from a left monkey muscle injury.

Crash Zone was quick to begin.  Dreamy Julian was slow to begin.  Two Dollar Pots and Riverside Mons collided approaching the first turn checking Two Dollar Pots.  Persuader and Riverside Mons collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  About To Cry checked off Cosmic Chieftain on the first turn.  Riverside Mons and Mini Load collided approaching the home turn.
