Steward's Report

Ms Michelle Neile, representative of Ottis Bale, declared a new weight of 30.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ottis Bale last raced at 31.4kg.

Tiny Octane and Platinum Osti were slow to begin.

Ima Terror and My Mate Wally collided soon after the start. Platinum Osti and Ima Terror collided at the 200m mark, checking Ima Terror. Tiny Octane and Platinum Osti collided at the 150m mark. My Mate Wally crossed to the outside at the 150m mark and raced wide. Frisco Liz and Little Barci collided at the 100m mark. Tiny Octane and Platinum Osti collided at the 100m mark, checking Platinum Osti. Tiny Octane checked off My Mate Wally approaching the winning post.

Ottis Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained  no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr M Neile, trainer of Ottis Bale in regards to the greyhounds performance in this event.  Mr Neile stated that Ottis Bale was returning to race after sustaining a serious injury to the stopper bone in May 2017.  Ottis Bale has since had a change of kennel and today was the first start for Mr Neile.  Mr Neile expects the greyhound to benefit from todays run. Stewards noted Mr Neile's explanation and took no further action.

A sample was taken from Tiny Octane, the third place-getter in the event.
