Stewards spoke to Mr A. Graham, the trainer of Evil Currency regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Evil Currency last raced on 3 March 2017. Mr Graham stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell and  declared a new weight of 27.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Evil Currency last raced at 28.3kg.

Evil Currency and Black Lesta were quick to begin. Classy Diva and Lektra Val collided soon after the start. Black Lesta checked off Natural Rhythm approaching the first turn. Evil Currency checked off Natural Rhythm on the first turn. Classy Diva checked off Evil Currency approaching the home turn. Evil Currency, Petre Knite Hawk and Classy Diva collided on the home turn checking Petre Knite Hawk. Petre Knite Hawk lost ground in the home straight. Classy Diva and Evil Currency collided approaching the winning post.

Petre Knite Hawk was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injuries to the right hamstring and right biceps, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Evil Currency was vetted following the event. It  was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both triceps and the right hamstring, biceps and sartorius muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Gray Bale, Umar Allen and Hully Gully collided on the first turn checking Hully Gully. Umar Allen checked off He's Not Shifty approaching the home turn. Mepunga Giant, Captain Marvel and Inga Red were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Why Not Archie, Quick Session and Crackerjack Nath collided approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Nath. Verev and Liscoyle Lass collided on the first turn checking Verev, Crackerjack Nath and Inga Red. Crackerjack Nath checked off Inga Red approaching the home turn. Verev and Inga Red collided on the home turn. Crackerjack Nath raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Verev was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Wharfies Girl was a late scratching at 14.27 due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Zoom Out and Nicky Jo were slow to begin. True Talent was quick to begin. Zoom Out checked off Flying Vulcan approaching the first turn. Flying Vulcan and Zoom Out collided on the first turn and several times approaching the home turn. Nicky Jo checked off Morrigan Ailis approaching the home turn. Radish checked off Ark Lightning approaching the home turn. Flying Vulcan raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Radish checked off Ark Lightning in the home straight.

Zoom Out was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Kalara, Shy Freddie and Baker Street were slow to begin. Kalara and Shy Freddie collided approaching the first turn. Baker Street and Golden Blaze collided approaching the first tuen checking Baker Street. Destini Cheetah, Podium Sensation and Juggernaut Train collided approaching the first turn. Shy Freddie checked off Podium Sensation on the first turn checking Baker Street. Golden Blaze crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Juggernaut Train and severely checking Podium Sensation and Shy Freddie. Baker Street checked off Podium Sensation approaching the home turn. Ginza Lion faltered in the home straight and lost ground.

Ginza Lion was vetted following the event. It was report that the greyhound sustained an injury to the gracilis muscle, a 60 day stand down preiod was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Flawless Bling.

Bag Of Magic and Eddie Eagle were slow to begin. Flawless Bling and Rido’s Ace collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn checking Flawless Bling. Calabasas checked off Rido’s Ace approaching the home turn. Eddie Eagle checked off Flawless Bling on the home turn.

Judges inadvertently semaphored the incorrect numbers. The issue was immediately rectified and the all clear given on the numbers 4 5 2 6.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Innes, regarding his failure to comply with the dress code and was issued with a warning.

Ethla Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triceps, hamstrings and biceps, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Allen Kelvin was slow to begin. Cosmic Bay was quick to begin. Premier Ching, Eranna Bale and Cement Socks collided approaching the first turn. Premier Ching, Myrniong Cosmo and Dyna Naitch collided approaching the home turn checking Myrniong Cosmo. Jack’s Rainbow and Cosmic Bay collided approaching the home turn. Myrniong Cosmo checked off Allen Kelvin approaching the home turn. Eranna Bale, Jack’s Rainbow and Cosmic Bay collided on the home turn checking Eranna Bale and Jack’s Rainbow. Premier Ching galloped on the heels of Cement Socks entering the home straight severely checking Cement Socks which fell, checking Premier Ching and Eranna Bale as a result.

Cement Socks was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a radius fracture to the left foreleg, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Eranna Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triceps, a five day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Victor Dora.

Why Not Sue and Victor Dora collided on the first turn. Mepunga Laser and Cha Ching Ching collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Laser. Fugitive Bale and Cha Ching Ching collided on the second turn. Fugitive Bale checked off Cha Ching Ching on the home turn checking Why Not Sue. Victor Dora and Gabrielle Allen collided several times in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Southwood Max – the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J Collins, the trainer of Troy Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Troy Bale last raced on 21 April 2017. Mr Collins stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a period of recovery for an injury to the right achilles.

Troy Bale was slow to begin. Lektra Miss and Miss Houdini collided approaching the first turn. Manila Traffic, Pandora’s Galaxy, Cosmic Nosey and Shady Apple collided approaching the home turn checking Cosmic Nosey. Lektra Miss and Miss Houdini collided approaching the home turn.
