A pre race sample was taken from Moody Ruby.
Mendacious Lad was quick to begin. Tangoette and Ollie Agira were slow to begin. Moody Ruby and Smiley Bynes collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Ollie Agira checked off Moody Ruby on the first turn. Ollie Agira checked off Smiley Bynes approaching the home turn. Moody Ruby raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr. T. Whitford regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Moody Ruby. Stewards directed that Moody Ruby be boxed first in future events.
