Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Craig, the trainer of Macalister, Ike regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Macalister Ike last raced on 3rd March 2017. Mr Craig stated that the greyhound was resuming to racing following a tendon injury in the greyhound's left wrist.
China Catch 'Em was slow to begin. Magic Innings, Flying Danger and Iona Everest collided soon after the start, checking Flying Danger. Macallister Ike and Hard Luck Story collided approaching the first turn, checking Hard Luck Story. Fashion Fix and Hard Luck Story collided on the first turn, causing Hard Luck Story to contact the running rail and check Iona Everest, Magic Innings and China Catch 'Em. Fashion Fix and Iona Everest collided approaching the home turn. Fashion Fix checked off Iona Everest on the home turn. Fashion Fix and Magic Innings collided entering the home straight, in the home straight and again approaching the winning post, checking Fashion Fix.
Fashion Fix was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
