Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from World Of Noise upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to hold for Albion Park Harness.
Trixie Diamond and Ando's Mac collided soon after the start. Militant Chief crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Texan Clear Way, Bag Of Magic, World Of Noise and Go Good Riddance. World Of Noise and Trixie Diamond collided approaching the first turn checking World Of Noise. World Of Noise contacted the running rail on the first turn. Texan Clear Way and Ando's Mac collided on the first turn checking Ando's Mac. Texan Clear Way and Ando's Mac collided approaching the second turn checking Ando's Mac and Trixie Diamond, severely checking Bag Of Magic which fell as a result. Texan Clear Way checked off Go Good Riddance on the home turn. Texan Clear Way and Go Good Riddance collided approaching the winning post.
Bag Of Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B. Divirgilio, the trainer of Bag of Magic regarding his use of offensive language behind the boxes during the running of this event. Acting under rule 86(q) Stewards charged Mr. Divirgilio in that he engaged in conduct which was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing. Mr. Divirgilio pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr. Divirgilio was found guilty and fined the sum of $100. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Mr. Divirgilio's guilty plea and remorse.
