Stewards spoke to Mr Owen McGovern, the trainer of Fearless Flyer, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Fearless Flyer last raced on 5 March, 2017. Mr. McGovern stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a near-side toe injury.
Stewards further spoke to Mr McGovern, the trainer of Marlow's Express, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Marlow's Express last raced on 26 February, 2017. Mr McGovern stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a stopper bone injury.
Fearless Flyer was slow to begin.
Taking Flight checked off the heels of Fearless Flyer at the 250m mark, severely checking Taking Flight. La Reina and Fearless Flyer collided at the 150m mark.
