Bellachino and Black Albert collided soon after the start, checking Bellachino. Gunmetal Angel and Blitzen Bell collided approaching the first turn, checking Blitzen Bell. Spring Alis checked off Lady Juar on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Gunmetal Angel checked off Oscar approaching the home turn, checking Blitzen Bell which raced wide as a result. Bellachino checked off Lady Juar on the home turn. Spring Alis and Lady Juar collided entering the home straight. Black Albert checked off Ripsaw Ronny approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Cameron Morris-Flynn, the trainer of Oshkosh Gypsy, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Oshkosh Gypsy last raced on 2 November 2016. Mr Morris-Flynn stated that Oshkosh Gypsy had changed kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Oshkosh Gypsy trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 27.4kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.84, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5L. Oshkosh Gypsy was cleared.

Podium Delight last raced on 20 October 2016. Mr Weir-Smith stated that Podium Delight had been given an extended spell and had a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A,Podium Delight trialled over the 390m from box two, weight 26.6kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.84, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.75L. Podium Delight was cleared.

Ms Cotton stated that Daimler had spelled following a right wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Daimler trialled over the 390m from box three, weight 30.6kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.84, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4L. Daimler was cleared.
