Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Moles, the trainer of Bobby Bung Leg regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Bobby Bung Leg last raced on 27 January 2017. Mr. Moles stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left hock injury.  Mr. Moles declared a new weight of 30.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bobby Bung Leg last raced at 29.2kg.

Sultan's Girl, Sultan's Pride and Bobby Bung Leg were slow to begin.  Bobby Bung Leg and Got The Boot collided soon after the start.  Sultan's Pride was checked off Hurricane Elyse on the first turn.  Sultan's Pride and Sultan's Girl collided on the first turn checking Sultan's Girl which raced wide as a result.  Hurricane Elyse was checked off Bobby Bung Leg approaching the home turn.  Sultan's Pride, Got The Boot and Hurricane Elyse raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

View Gift.  Galloping Kriste clipped the heels of Little Mischa approaching the first turn severely checking Galloping Kriste.  Galloping Kriste was checked off Hello Mr. Duck on the first turn checking Lollipop.

Nanny's Poppy and Tax Relief were quick to begin.  Oh Nikita was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Fifty Dollar and Le Freak collided approaching the first turn.  Fifty Dollar was checked off Nanny's Poppy on the first turn checking Blue Cat Wombat.  Blue Cat Wombat and Oh Nikita collided approaching the home turn checking Blue Cat Wombat.  Slick Assassian and Blue Cat Wombat collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. T. Morris regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Hurricane Craig.  Stewards directed that Hurricane Craig be boxed first in future events.

Lyley Lass and Aminya Shadow collided soon after the start.  Riverside Kim, Moody Ruby and Smiley Bynes collided in the back straight checking all three greyhounds.  Vanilla Kiss and Aminya Shadow collided approaching the home turn. Smiley Bynes eased in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. T. Kennedy-Harris the trainer of the greyhound Smiley Bynes regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Smiley Bynes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to a toe on the left hind foot, no stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Smiley Bynes with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Ms. Kennedy-Harris pleaded guilty to the charge, Smiley Bynes was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination was accepted.

Blocka Boy and Terrace were slow to begin.  Blocka Boy and Johnny Bullet collided soon after the start.  Johnny Bullet and Terrace collided on the first turn checking Johnny Bullet.  It's Debatable, Simbarea and Blocka Boy collided in the back straight checking Blocka Boy and It's Debatable.  Ebony Sprite and Simbarea collided in the back straight.  Destructo Rat was checked off Ebony Sprite in the back straight.  Terrace and Zafonic Express collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Fallen Star was slow to begin.  Riverside Mons, Better Beware and Dargo Dasher collided soon after the start.  Better Beware and Locomotion collided approaching the first turn.  Better Beware was checked off Little Written on the first turn checking Locomotion.  Riverside Mons and Claude Van Keats collided approaching the home turn checking Claude Van Keats.

Meeting comments:-

Dashing Max trialled over 395 metres from box 6, weight 35.2kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.63 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12 lengths.  Dashing Max was cleared.

Channing trialled over 395 metres from box 1, weight 34.0kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.63 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 12 lengths.   Channing was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Grima the trainer of Jetmag Ink regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Jetmag Ink last raced on 05/08/16.  Mr. Grima stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Jetmag Ink trialled over 395 metres from box 3, weight 33.3kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 6.  The time of the trial was 22.63 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.25 lengths.   Jetmag Ink was cleared.
