Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Dean, the trainer of Hands To Myself regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Hands To Myself last raced on 12 February 2017 and is returning after a spell.

Dr. Sherlock and Tekki Lightning were quick to begin.  Audacious Mickan was slow to begin.  Hello Nimble was checked off Dr. Sherlock soon after the start.  Tekki Lightning and Mega Secret collided on the first turn checking Tekki Lightning.  Dr. Sherlock and Tekki Lightning collided approaching the home turn.  Cooler Colour and Hello Nimble collided approaching the home turn.  Dr. Sherlock and Mega Secret collided entering the home straight.  Hello Nimble and Mint Burst raced wide in the home straight.

Master Mordecai, Mac and Mick Mow were slow to begin.  Hally Allen was checked off Aston Philou on the first turn checking She's Got Dash and Mac and severley checking Hally Allen and Master Mordecai, Hally Allen and Master Mordecai lost considerable ground, Hally Allen subsequently tailed off.  Aston Philou and Metro's Girl collided approaching the home turn.

Hally Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right biceps, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Master Mordecai was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Allen Jeer, Puffin' Stuff and White Diamond were slow to begin.  White Diamond and Just Curtis collided approaching the home turn.  Puffin' Stuff and Roll 'Em Maggie collided approaching the home turn.  Just Curtis raced wide in the home straight.  Jasocate and Ishmy Girl collided in the home straight.

 Mr. R. Eades, Trainer of My Lady Limonite declared a new weight of 27.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). My Lady Limonite last raced at 28.2kg.

Jupiter Jones was slow to begin.  Freedom Fire was very slow to begin (4 lengths) and crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Soda Sky, Soda Storm and Sienna's Gem collided soon after the start.  Ringading Sister, Soda Sky and Soda Storm collided approaching the first turn checking Soda Storm.  Sienna's Gem crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Soda Sky and Jupiter Jones.  Jupiter Jones clipped the heels of Soda Sky on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  My Lady Limonite raced wide entering the home straight.  Jupiter Jones and Soda Storm collided in the home straight.  Mea Rose and Soda Sky collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

My Lady Limonite was vetted following the event after an incident in the catching pen.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Newcombe, the trainer of Little Tacka regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Little Tacka last raced on 6 December 2016 and is returning after a torn left calf. Mr. Newcombe also declared a new weight of 38.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Little Tacka last raced at 39.5kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Carr, the trainer of City Rambler regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. City Rambler last raced on 12 Jamuary 2017 and is returning after tearing both back muscles.

Rhyan's Return was quick to begin.  Little Tacka, Don't Trust and Watch This Space were slow to begin.  City Rambler was checked off Pacific Impulse approaching the first turn.  Pacific Impulse and Rhyan's Return collided approaching the first turn.  Rhyan's Return was checked off Vanishka on the first turn.  Pacific Impulse was checked off Rhyan's Return approaching the home turn.

Black Pontiac was quick to begin.  Wolfbane McCabe, Mo Daniher and Little Black Joe collided approaching the first turn checking Mo Daniher and Little Black Joe.  Serious Bolt was checked off Johnny's Return on the first turn checking Handpass and Celtic Charm.  Wolfbane McCabe was checked off Celtic Charm approaching the home turn checking Little Black Joe.  Mo Daniher raced wide on the home turn.  Wolfbane McCabe raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. S. Van Oirschot was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card/weight card were produced for the greyhound Miss Dee Meadows pursuant to GAR 33.

Cindeen Jates was slow to begin.  Bulk Cairns and Excelencia collided approaching the first turn checking Excelencia which lost ground as a result.  Popowski was checked off Bulk Cairns on the first turn.  Popowski and Zambora Caitlyn collided on the home turn checking Zambora Caitlyn.  Excelencia raced wide on the home turn.

Excelencia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right hind foot, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Paranoia, Conquer Fear and Nangar Range were quick to begin.  Amaroo Gonzales was slow to begin.  Lucky Tetris and Mister Brown collided soon after the start.  McNeo and Nangar Range collided approaching the first turn.  Lucky Tetris galloped on Conquer Fear on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Nangar Range raced wide in the home straight.

Dashing Diamond, Burnt Rubber and Aston Tara were quick to begin.  Dashing Diamond and Demon Jesse collided on the first turn checking Demon Jesse.  Shellington galloped on Maximum Mak on the first turn checking Shellington which subsequently collided with It's My Secret, It's My Secret raced wide as a result.  Burnt Rubber faltered on the home turn.  It's My Secret raced wide eintering the home straight.

Pictures Pearce was presented for a re-vet assessment at the conclusion of kennelling and was passed fit to race. 

Satisfactory trial result:-

Elite Shiraz trialled over 400 metres from box 1, weight 25.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.25 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5 lengths.  Elite Shiraz was cleared.
