Hotham Lad, Logan Fantasy, Funda Down and Molly Chapta collided soon after the start checking Hotham Lad. Dynamite Harmony checked off Paradise Bay appraoching the first turn. Hotham Lad contacted the running rail on the first turn. Funda Down and Molly Chapta collided on the first turn checking Funda Down and Hotham Lad. Paradise Bay, Logan Fantasy and Tobi Tinkler collided on the first turn checking Logan Fantasy and Tobi Tinkler. Dynamite Harmony eased approaching the home turn. Funda Down checked off Claretown Belle approaching the home turn. Logan Fantasy and Tobi Tinkler collided approaching the home turn checking Tobi Tinkler. Hotham Lad and Dynamite Harmony collided in the home straight. Dynamite Harmony and Funda Down collided approaching the winning post.

Dynamite Harmony was vetted and re-vetted following race 5. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs J McDowall, the trainer of Dynamite Harmony. Stewards deemed the performance of Dynamite Harmony unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accoradance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Dynamite Harmony must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Jet Pilot was quick to begin. Best Shared and Levenseat Bevan were slow to begin. 

Gold Compass, Remo Wind, Levenseat Bevan and Cindy's Zafonic collided soon after the start checking Remo Wind and Levenseat Bevan and severely checking Cindy's Zafonic which stumbled as a result. Jet Pilot and Gold Compass collided approaching the home turn checking Jet Pilot. Maeby Allen galloped on the heels of Remo Wind approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Best Shared and Quink collided on the home turn. Levenseat Bevan checked off Jet Pilot on the home turn. 

Jet Pilot was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. 

Cindy's Zafonic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to both hind legs. No stand down period was imposed.

Claretown Louie was very slow to begin (3 lengths). 

Laguna Madre and Zipping Ringo collided on the first turn checking Zipping Ringo and severely checking Zipping Jane, Caesar's Comet and Gunnewin, Caesar's Comet and Gunnewin stumbled as a result. Crimson Peak checked off Zipping Ringo approaching the home turn. Crimson Peak and Gunnewin raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B Bravo, the trainer of Zamperini regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Zamperini last raced on 13th November, 2015 and is returning to racing after a right hock injury. Mr. Bravo, declared a new weight of 37.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zamperini last raced at 36.5kgs.

Axel Boy, Run Sajid Run, Zipping Vito and Jackpot Time were slow to begin.

My Waverly Queen and Zamperini collided soon after the start. Zipping Vito and Jackpot Time collided soon after the start. My Waverly Queen and Zamperini collided approaching the first turn. Run Sajid Run checked off Axel Boy approaching the first turn. My Waverly Queen and Zamperini collided on the first turn checking My Waverly Queen. Axel Boy checked off Dyna Omen on the first turn. Zamperini checked off Zipping Vito approaching the home turn. Run Sajid Run and Jackpot Time collided on the home turn. Dyna Omen and My Waverly Queen collided entering the home straight.

Slipaway Robbie was slow to begin.

Heaps Of Boloney checked off Dom Daisy soon after the start. Dom Daisy and Cobra Commander collided approaching the first turn. Aston Ryder and Shiny Lad collided approaching the first turn checking Shiny Lad. Shiny Lad and Dom Daisy collided approaching the first turn, Dom Daisy fell as a result. Latino Ice, Bush Rebel and Aston Ryder collided on the first turn checking Heaps of Boloney and severely checking Latino Ice, Bush Rebel and Shiny Lad. Shiny Lad raced wide in the home straight. 

Dom Daisy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Tigra Tron and Ya Want Some were slow to begin.

Myrniong Plow and Mademoiselle Sox collided soon after the start. Andelven crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Fabstar, Droopys Bentley, Mademoiselle Sox and Andelven and severely checking Myrniong Plow. Ya Want Some, Hidden Effective and Mademoiselle Sox collided on the second turn and again approaching the home turn. Hidden Effective and Mademoiselle Sox collided on the home turn. Myrniong Plow raced wide in the home straight.

Claretown Louise checked off Sugar Hit Johnny approaching the home turn. Fiery Universe and Sugar Hit Johnny collided in the home straight. Linny Morris raced wide throughout the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R McCullagh, the trainer of Girder Fork regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Girder Fork last raced on 4th November, 2015 and is returning to racing after a hock injury.

Hell On Wheels, Miss Shadow, Furious Jack and Baroness Molly collided soon after the start checking all four greyhounds. Girder Fork and Velobell collided on the first turn. Happy Hudson and Jazzy Bale collided on the first turn checking Jazzy Bale. Miss Shadow and Furious Jack collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Girder Fork and Velobell collided approaching the home turn checking Girder Fork. Jazzy Bale checked off Happy Hudson and raced wide on the home turn.

Admiral Bay was slow to begin. 

Dixie Anne, Moyarra Okuibi and Frozen Nitro collided soon after the start. Golden Blaze checked off Dragon Glass approaching the first turn. Hop On Black and Take That Banksy collided on the first turn. Dragon Glass, Dixie Anne and Frozen Nitro collided on the first turn checking Dixie Anne and severely checking Frozen Nitro and Admiral Bay. Dixie Anne and Frozen Nitro collided on the home turn. Hop On Black and Dragon Glass collided in the home straight. Moyarra Okuibi raced wide in the home straight. 

Admiral Bay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pencil muscle and spike wounds to the right hindleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Sparkling Kitty trialled over the 390m  from box 8, weight 25.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 3 in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.56, the greyhound was beaten by 7.5 lengths. Sparkling Kitty was Cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Nussin Much trialled over the 450m from box 8, weight 35.2kgs. The time of the trial was 25.49, Nussin Much was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr A Hyde the trainer of Dunbro Fergus regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Dunbro Fergus last raced on 12 October 2015. Mr Hyde stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a triangle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Dunbro Fergus trialled over 390m from box 3, weight 30.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 4 in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.56, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9 lengths. Dunbro Fergus was Cleared.
