Mitch Sparrabush and Dee Bee Gold were slow to begin.  Cortex and Senorita Cherry collided soon after the start.  Winslow Warrior, Barefoot Days, Symmetry Lad and Peta Bale collided soon after the start.  Symmetry Lad crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Cortex, Senorita Cherry and Winslow Warrior.   Dee Bee Gold eased on the first turn. Mitch Sparrabush and Dee Bee Gold collided on the first turn checking Dee Bee Gold.  Dee Bee Gold galloped on the heels of Cortex on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Cortex and Dee Bee Cherry collided several times approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Winslow Warrior and Barefoot collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Winslow Warrior.

Cortex was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the head and injury to the left wrist, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dee Bee Gold was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right metatarsal , no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Geyer, the trainer of the greyhound Dee Bee Gold.   was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right metatarsal, no stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Dee Bee Gold with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6),  before any future nomination will be accepted.
