Lady Scrumptious checked off Bowon Approach approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Lady Scrumptious galloped on Pistol approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Soon Now raced wide on the home turn. Bowon Approach and Long Live Sid collided entering the home straight. Pistol checked off Long Live Sid approaching the winning post. Lady Scrumptious and Hello Mr Duck collided approaching the winning post.

Poison Pen and Furious Trump were quick to begin. He's A Freebie, Sandtrack Sniper and Sunset Queen were slow to begin.

Sandtrack Sniper checked off He's A Freebie soon after the start. Sargent and He's A Freebie collided on the first turn, checking He's A Freebie and Sunset Queen. Poison Pen raced wide on the first turn through to the home straight. Sargent raced wide entering the home straight. She's Smoking and Sunset Queen collided approaching the winning post.

Poison Pen tired over the concluding stages of the event and was vetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A five-day stand down period.

My Girl Lois was quick to begin. Scarlet Evader was slow to begin.

Atigrado was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the left wrist. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Blulehawk Lady checked off Optima Semper soon after the start, checking Santana. Trademark Chops and Lady Talker collided on the first turn, checking Trademark Chops. Rodeo and Santana raced wide in the home straight.

Popowski, Miata Gold, Happy Hamish and Zulu Zoe collided soon after the start, checking Miata Gold and Happy Hamish. Taabinga Swift stumbled on the first turn and lost ground.

Gats Prodigy was vetted after the event following an incident in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal fracture to the right hock. A 28-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards directed that Mr John Connor present the greyhound Taabinga Swift to the Sale meeting on 28/04/17 for a veterinary examination after he left the course without Stewards permission.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gino Bisognin, the representative of Lisburn Gem, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lisburn Gem last raced on 18 January 2017 and is returning after a front left toe injury.

Lisburn Gem, Aztec Flash and Snow Matter were slow to begin. Veetee Mist checked off Turfman on the first turn.

Sunset Senorita tired over the concluding stages of the event and was vetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Ryan Bean, the trainer of Sunset Senorita, regarding the greyhound's performance over the concluding stages. Mr Bean stated that he believed the greyhound had tired as it had stepped up in distance for this event and has only had one trial over a similar distance in the past. Stewards noted Mr Bean's explanation and took no further action.

Rusty Mia and Kiyoshi were quick to begin. Diamond Maxine was slow to begin. No Road and Rusty Mia collided approaching the first turn, checking No Road. Angry Alley, Miz Josie  and Diamond Maxine collided on the first turn, checking Miz Josie. Rock Me Baby, Buckle Up Todd and Angry Alley collided on the first turn, checking Angry Alley and severely checking Rock Me Baby which tailed off; Buckle Up Todd fell as a result. Diamond Maxine checked off Kiyoshi approaching the home turn. Diamond Maxine raced wide entering the home straight.

Buckle Up Todd was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gracillis (back) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Rock Me Baby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the right hind and an abrasion to the left calf. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample, upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling was unable to be obtained from Kayo King. A subsequent pre-race sample was taken. 

Elite Shiraz and Jupiter Jones were quick to begin.

Freedom Fire was slow to begin.

Kayo King checked off Jupiter Jones on the first turn. Never Satisfied checked off Amaroo Gonzales on the first turn. Elite Shiraz checked off Blue Squirrel in the home straight. Elite Shiraz eased approaching the winning post.

Celtic Charm was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle and right hind toe. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of the greyhound Elite Shiraz, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Elite Shiraz was vetted, and revetted following event 11, and found to have no apparent injury. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Elite Shiraz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Elite Shiraz was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

My Echidna was a late scratching at 7:14am due to illness (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

It's Debatable and Memphis Victorem collided approaching the first turn. Dr. Shanice checked off Thor's Crest approaching the home turn. Memphis Victorem lost ground approaching the home turn. It's Debatable raced wide in the home straight.

Memphis Victorem was vetted and revetted following event twelve. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Jeffries, the handler of the greyhound Memphis Victorem. Stewards deemed the performance of Memphis Victorem unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, directed that Memphis Victorem must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - My Mate Horse trialled over the 460m from box one, weight 33.1kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 26.17, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2L. My Mate Horse was cleared.
