Supplementary Stewards Report -    

Trainer Mr. J. Connor presented the greyhound Taabinga Swift for vetting.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right pencil/whip muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Mr. Connor was issued with a warning under GAR 42.2. for leaving the Warragul meeting on 27/04/2017 without first gaining stewards permission.

Stewards were notified late in the evening that the track was lightly harrowed on the inside on Wednesday 26th April, 2017.

A pre race sample was taken from Tax Relief upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Shamus Mac was slow to begin.  Salegrey Wy Yung and Flash Bobbie collided on the first turn checking Flash Bobbie.  Dinner Plain galloped on Tax Relief approaching the home turn.  Eskimo Pie checked off Flash Bobbie entering the home straight.  Eskimo Pie eased and crossed to the outside approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Gieschen , the trainer of the greyhound Eskimo Pie regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Eskimo Pie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the left and right pencil muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Eskimo Pie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Gieschen pleaded guilty to the charge, Eskimo Pie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre race sample was taken from Zipping Nadia upon arrival at the course, prior to kennellling.

Heard A Rumour and Lakeview Maisey were slow to begin.  Lanky Lurch and Cosmic Fox collided approaching the first turn checking Lanky Lurch.  Detroit Wally and Santano collided approaching the first turn checking Detroit Wally.  Heard A Rumour and Zipping Nadia collided in the back straight.  Detroit Wally and Santano collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Lanky Lurch and Zipping Nadia collided entering the home straight.

A pre race sample was taken from Zipping King.

Soda Storm and Heza Gem were slow to begin.  Omega Bonner and Dipped In Ink collided approaching the first turn causing Dipped In Ink to stumble and contact the running rail; Dipped In Ink lost considerable ground as a result.  Heza Gem checked off Omega Bonner on the first turn.  Cracking Joe raced wide entering the home straight.

Dipped In Ink was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind tarsus and the right hind metatarsus.  No stand down period was imposed.

Mr. G. Scott-Smith, trainer of Aged Badly declared a new weight of 35.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Aged Badly last raced at 33.5kgs.

Aged Badly was slow to begin.  Ishmy Girl, Angelic Hand and Cosmic Chieftain collided approaching the first turn checking Angelic Hand.  Aged Badly and Got Ya Back collided on the first turn.  Ishmy Girl and Star Of Anand collided on the first turn.  Aged Badly checked off Got Ya Back on the first turn.  Ishmy Girl galloped on Fairy Where approaching the home turn checking Cosmic Chieftain.  Ishmy Girl and Fairy Where collided in the home straight.

Charly Shu Shine checked off July Allen soon after the start.  Crash Zone and Lizzy Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Crash Zone.  Crash Zone and Off The Hip collided on the first turn.  Off The Hip and Light 'Em Lylah collided entering the home straight.  Light 'Em Lylah checked off July Allen approaching the winning post.

Lissa Breen was slow to begin.  Bending Bananas, Kobe's Hand, Suzy Nitro and Simply Mystic collided on the first turn checking Suzy Nitro.  Kobe's Hand checked off Bending Bananas approaching the home turn. Suzy Nitro checked off Lissa Breen entering the home straight.

A sample was taken from Wolfbane McCabe - the winner of the event.

Effectual and Tarsier were slow to begin.  Effectual and Tarsier collided soon after the start checking Tarsier.  Opalia Bale, Our Gal Livy and Wild Hunny collided approaching the first turn checking Our Gal Livy and Wild Hunny.  Wild Hunny and Effectual collided on the first turn checking Effectual.  Corroboree and Destructo Rat collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Destini Montana checked off Our Gal Livy approaching the home turn.  Effectual and Destini Montana collided approaching the home turn severely checking Effectual.  Effectual checked off Destructo Rat on the home turn.  Effectual raced wide in the home straight.

Effectual was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated left hind toe and split webbing, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Paddles Anderson was slow to begin.  Lloyd Street and Chezzy Allen collided on the second turn checking Lloyd Street.  Paddles Anderson, Lloyd Street and Mister Heeney collided on the home turn severely checking Lloyd Street.

A pre race sample was taken from Shiro.

Shackleton was slow to begin.  Dr. Gammiris and Lemon Paw collided on the first turn checking Shackleton.  Dr. Gammiris checked off Make It Happen approaching the home turn.

A sample was taken from Monster Jam Jack - the winner of the event.

Kisseemee and Dundee Fury were slow to begin.  Righto Mitch, Purple Hand and Lakeview Isla collided soon after the start.  Claude Van Keats and Righto Mitch collided approaching the first turn checking Righto Mitch and Kisseemee.  Jarrad Keats and Claude Van Keats collided on the first turn checking Claude Van Keats and severely checking Jarrad Keats which lost considerable ground.  Kisseemee and Righto Mitch collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Dundee Fury was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left dew claw injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Righto Mitch was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. A. Andrews the handler of Righto Mitch regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.

Blue Not Black and Ballymac Finola were slow to begin.  Bruiser Senor and Urban Street collided approaching the first turn checking Bruiser Senor.  Bruiser Senor and Ballymac Finola collided on the first turn checking Bruiser Senor.  Soda Streeet and Urban Streeet collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

MEETING COMMENTS :

Satisfactory Trial Result - Majik Mikado trialled over the 440m from box 7, weight 34.3kgs,  the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.72, the greyhound won by a margin of a head.   Majik Mikado was Not Cleared.
