A pre-race sample was taken from Tat Tubby upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Crackerjack Brom was slow to begin. Tat Tubby, Proven Les and Crackerjack Brom collided soon after the start checking Proven Les. All Inn Hunter checked off Jarvis Jet approaching the first turn. Whalephant checked off All Inn Hunter on the first turn. Whalephant, Tat Tubby and Proven Les collided on the first turn checking Tat Tubby. Whalephant checked off Proven Les approaching the home turn.
Whalephant was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right lateral tricep injury and a right sesamoid injury. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.
