A pre-race sample was taken from Buck's Express.
Kraken Suzie, Jimmy Got Style and Buck's Express were slow to begin. Kraken Suzie eased soon after the start and pulled up. Who's My Daddy, Calabasas and Claretown Happy collided on the first turn checking Calabasas. Who's My daddy, Claretown Happy and Miss Twerker collided approaching the home turn checking Claretown Happy and Miss Twerker. Who's My Daddy and Miss Twerker collided in the home straight checking Miss Twerker.
Mr. K. Eyles declined to have Kraken Suzie vetted following the event. Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Eyles, the trainer of the greyhound Kraken Suzie regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kraken Suzie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Suzie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
