Stewards spoke to Mr K Jones, the trainer of the greyhound Big Boy Rocket, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Big Boy Rocket was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg wrist injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Big Boy Rocket with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Joness pleaded guilty to the charge, Big Boy Rocket was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr B Gray, the representative of Lady Camelot, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lady Camelot last raced on 31 of October 2016.  Mr Gray stated that Lady Camelot is returning to racing from being on season.  Mr B Gray, also declared a new weight of 25.9 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lady Camelot last raced at 24.6 kgs.

Dodging Danger was slow to begin.  Darb's The Man and Destini Charger collided on several occasions approaching the first turn.  Renaldo crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Burra Flight and Dodging Danger. Small Decision, Miss Skye High and Burra Flight collided on the first turn, checking Miss Skye High and Burra Flight.  Miss Skye High checked off Burra Flight approaching the home turn.  Darb's The Man and Small Decision collided on the home turn, checking Small Decision and Destini Charger.  Destini Charger, Small Decision and Burra Flight collided in the home straight, checking all greyhounds.

Dodging Danger was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg quadriceps muscle injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Mr B Cook, trainer of Last Angel, declared a new weight of 23.5 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Last Angel last raced at 24.8 kgs.

Mr S Collyer, trainer of Lireva, declared a new weight of 29.3 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lireva last raced at 28.0 kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr M Cauchi, the trainer of Cruisy's Lil, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cruisy's Lil last raced on 22 November 2016.  Mr Cauchi stated that Cruisy's Lil is returning to racing from a left shoulder injury.

Riverdale Tarzan, Lireva, Right Said Frank and Tomdor were all slow to begin.  Cruisy's Lil and Last Angel collided soon after the start.  Cruisy's Lil, Last Angel and With A Whisper collided soon after the start, checking Cruisy's Lil.  Riverdale Tarzan checked off Cruisy's Lil on the first turn.  Last Angel checked off Lireva on the first turn.  Riverdale Tarzan galloped on Like A Bailey approaching the home turn, checking Like A Bailey, Riverdale Tarzan and Last Angel.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P Riley, the representative of Call Me Gee, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Call Me Gee last raced on 8 September 2016.  Mr Riley stated that the greyhound was returning from being seasonal.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Call Me Gee trialled over the 400m from box three, weight 26.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22:66, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.25 lengths.  Call Me Gee was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mahlo Hero trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 24.7 kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22:66, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of six lengths.  Mahlo Hero was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Merinda Hannah trialled over the 460m from box five, weight 22.7 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 26:20, the greyhound won by a margin of one length.  Merinda Hannah was Cleared.
