It's Magic, No Permit and Broulee Miss were slow to begin. It's Magic checked off Cosmic Moments approaching the first turn checking Cosmic Moments. Little Boy Jed eased and collided with Sure To Excite on the first turn. Argyle Lucifer checked off Broulee Miss on the first turn. Little Boy Jed eased and collided with Charly Shu Shine approaching the home turn severely checking Little Boy Jed and Sure To Excite. Sure To Excite and It's Magic collided approaching the home turn. Sure To Excite and It's Magic collided on the home turn checking Sure To Excite.
Sure To Excite was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Vantaarling, the handler of the greyhound Little Boy Jed regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn and approaching the home turn. Little Boy Jed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both left and right hind toes, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Little Boy Jed with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Vantaarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Little Boy Jed was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
