Small Decision checked off Commander soon after the start. Vanity Affair checked off Small Decision on the first turn. Lonesome George and Butkus collided on the first turn, checking Lonesome George which raced wide as a result. Pillar Creek and Commander collided on the home turn and again in the home straight. Nicky Jo checked off Commander in the home straight. Vanity Affair raced wide in the home straight.
Vanity Affair was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound lost a nail on the right hind foot. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
