Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Allen Oregon.

Kilkee Flex was quick to begin.  Linco Bale was slow to begin.  Able Chief, Kraken Nitro and Allen Oregon collided soon after the start checking Kraken Nitro which stumbled as a result.  Able Chief and Aston Harvey collided on the first turn.  Allen Oregon and Brown Bomber collided on the first turn.  Aston Harvey and Allen Oregon collided on the first turn.  Kilkee Flex, Linco Bale and Mademoiselle Sox collided on the third turn.  Aston Harvey and Allen Oregon collided in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Linco Bale, the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Drummond, the handler of Able Chief regarding an incident behind the boxes prior to the start of this event. Stewards observed Mr. Drummond with his right hand in his pocket and shortly after removing his hand placing it in the vicinity of the greyhound's head. Mr. Drummond stated that the muzzle on Able Chief was marginally tight and after having his hand in his pocket he adjusted the muzzle forward. Acting on their own observations Stewards noted Mr. Drummond's comments however advised him to be more aware of his actions in future and not to leave himself open to interpretation.
