Steward's Report
Daintree Alice, Bullboar and Cozzi were slow to begin. Miss Pie, Kraken Tobias and Ariki Whero collided soon after the start. Pink Poppy and Daintree Alice collided approaching the first turn, checking Pink Poppy. Miss Pie checked off Kraken Tobias on the first turn. Cozzi, Ariki Whero and Kraken Tobias collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G Rigg, the trainer of the greyhound Pink Poppy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Pink Poppy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right foreleg monkey muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Pink Poppy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Rigg pleaded guilty to the charge, Pink Poppy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
