Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Tabb, the trainer of Lektra Burst regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lektra Burst last raced on 18th October 2015.  Mrs. Tabb stated that Lektra Burst was resuming racing following a change of kennels.  Mrs.Tabb declared a new weight of 36.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lektra Burst last raced at 34.5kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Big Show Mullo.

Bazz Kebab was slow to begin.  Big Show Mullo, Cosmic Jam and Atlas Tinkabell collided approaching the first turn severely checking Cosmic Jam which fell as a result.  Lektra Burst and Kinloch Creek collided approaching the first turn.  Scorching Fella checked off Dulcet Sound on the first turn.  Bazz Kebab and Atlas Tinkabell collided on the first tun checking Atlas Tinkabell which lost considerable ground and subsequently pulled up.  Lektra Burst eased and collided with Scorching Fella several times in the home straight.

Cosmic Jam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Cookson, the trainer of the greyhound Atlas Tinkabell regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Atlas Tinkabell was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Atlas Tinkabell with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. Cookson pleaded guilty to the charge.  Atlas Tinkabell was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
