Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Petersen, the trainer of Winsome Blake regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Winsome Blake last raced on 15th November 2015. Mr. Petersen stated that Winsome Blake was returning to race following a change of kennels. Mr. Petersen declared a new weight of 33.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Winsome Blake last raced at 32.6kgs (Satisfactory Trial on 15th December 2015).
Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Robinson, trainer of Cosmic George regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cosmic George last raced on 20th November 2015. Mr. Robinson stated that Cosmic George was returning to race following an injury to the left fibula.
Senni Ricky was slow to begin. Cee Jay Mac and Zahra Bella collided soon after the start. Winsome Blake and Powerful Stress collided soon after the start. Cee Jay Mac, Zahra Bella, Winsome Blake and Powerful Stress collided approaching the first turn checking Powerful Stress and Cosmic George. Little Horey's checked off Winsome Blake approaching the first turn. Little Horey's and Zahra Bella collided on the home turn. Winsome Blake and CeeJay Mac collided in the home straight. Winsome Blake veered in and marred the running of Cee Jay Mac in the home straight.
Winsome Blake was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Petersen, the trainer of the greyhound Winsome Blake regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Winsome Blake with marring. Mr. Petersen pleaded not guilty to the charge. Winsome Blake was found guilty and suspended for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
