Buster Brown was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right foreleg and was humanely euthanised.

Midnight El and Ebony Eclipse collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Claretown Boris and Shifting Gears collided on the first turn. Our Kippy and Shifting Gears collided on the first turn checking Shifting Gears. Renegade Rebel and Ebony Eclipse collided on the first turn checking Ebony Eclipse. Renegade Rebel checked off Shifting Gears approaching the home turn. Midnight El checked off Ebony Eclipse approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke  to trainer J. Borg regarding the difficulty in boxing the greyhound Ballerino. Stewards directed that Ballerino be boxed first in future events. 

Stewards spoke to Ms T.Salter, the trainer of Boston Shuffle regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Boston Shuffle last raced on 23 July 2015. Ms.Salter stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season. Ms Salter further added that Boston Shuffle had competed in two qualifying trials on the 24 October 2015 and 27 Feburary 2016. 

Just Smile and Alchemy were slow to begin. 

Alchemy and Shifty Lilly collided approaching the first turn. Just Smile and Texas Blaze collided approaching the first turn. Stolen, Just Smile, Alchemy and Texas Blaze collided on the first turn checking Alchemy and Texas Blaze. Shifty Lilly raced wide entering the home straight. 

Texas Blaze was vetted following the event. It was reported there was no apparent injury. 

B. Mitchem, trainer of Cool Lois declared a new weight of 23.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cool Lois last raced at 24.7kgs.

Frozen Nitro was quick to begin.

Needs Wings and Crymelon Fettle collided soon after the start checking Crymelon Fettle. Frozen Nitro and Pay The Boo collided on the first turn. Crymelon Fettle checked off Cool Lois approaching the home turn. Frozen Nitro and Golden Blaze collided on the home turn. Frozen Nitro and Absolute Roarer collided on the home turn. The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Cheap As and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 5.51pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr.B.Mitchem was fined the sum of $100.

Lektra Damage and Altesse collided soon after the start checking Altesse. It Gets Better, Gardot, Senni William and Lucky Brew collided on the first turn checking Lucky Brew, Gardot and Texta Arandt. Gardot and Lucky Brew collided on the home turn. Gardot and Texta Arandt collided entering the home straight.
