Steward's Report
Mr J. Ennis, Trainer of Gaucho, declared a new weight of 33.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Gaucho last raced at 34.6kg.
Stewards also spoke to Mr Ennis regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Gaucho last raced on 13 November, 2015. Mr Ennis stated that the greyhound has been recovering from an injury to the right metatarsal/hock.
Immortal Bear was quick to begin. Zipping Chubbz and Wind Whistler were slow to begin. Immortal Bear and Gaucho collided soon after the start checking Gaucho. Zipping Chubbz and Wind Whistler collided soon after the start. Gaucho crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Jive Time. Banjo Bewdy and Hush Now collided approaching the first turn. Immortal Bear and Bannister Bale collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Chubbz checked off Gaucho on the first turn checking Hush Now, severely checking Zipping Chubbz and Wind Whistler causing Banjo Bewdy to fall. Immortal Bear, Gaucho and Bannister Bale collided approaching the second turn checking Immortal Bear. Zipping Chubbz and Wind Whistler collided approaching the third turn. Jive Time and Immortal Bear collided on the third turn checking Immortal Bear. Wind Whistler and Hush Now collided on the home turn checking Hush Now.
Banjo Bewdy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained muscle bruising and a laceration to the right wrist, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Zipping Chubbz was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
