Steward's Report
Snakebite Bale, Invictus Rapid and American Warrior were slow to begin. Invictus Rapid and American Warrior collided soon after the start. Shades Of Sassy and American Warrior collided approaching the first turn, checking Invictus Rapid. Diego Bale checked off Jack Walker on the first turn. Diego Bale checked off Shades Of Sassy on the home turn. Invictus Rapid and Ernest Bale collided entering the home straight. Diego Bale checked off Shades Of Sassy on the home turn. American Warrior marred the running of Jack Walker approaching the winning post.
Samples were taken from the placegetters of the event - Jack Walker (1st), American Warrior (2nd) and Snakebite Bale (3rd).
American Warrior was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hamstring and spike wounds to the back toes, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Invictus Rapid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraisions above the right eye. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Keel, the handler of the greyhound American Warrior regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged American Warrior with marring. Mr B Keel pleaded guilty to the charge, American Warrior was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
