American Warrior was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hamstring and spike wounds to the back toes, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Invictus Rapid was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraisions above the right eye.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr B Keel, the handler of the greyhound American Warrior regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged American Warrior with marring. Mr B Keel pleaded guilty to the charge, American Warrior was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Due to an administrative error Bird Special was a late scratching at 8.41am by order of Stewards. No stand down penalty was applied.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Arthur, the trainer of Peragon Falcon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Peragon Falcon last raced on 13 November 2015.  Mr Arthur stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury to the right wrist.

Shazzle's Boy was slow to begin.  Zoltina's Prize and Extradition collided soon after the start.  Zoltina's Legacy, Ice Cold Bundy and Kian's Hybrid collided approaching the first turn, checking Ice Cold Bundy.  Zoltina's Legacy and Kian's Hybrid collided approaching the frist turn, checking Zoltina's Legacy.  Zoltina's Legacy and Kian's Hybrid collided approaching the home turn.  Zoltina's Legacy and Extradition collided approaching the winning post.

Subsequent to the event Stewards spoke to Starter Mr.Daryl Keirl after it was established Hollywood Jones was inadvertently boxed first in this event . instead of Eight Hours which should have been boxed first. Mr.Keirl was advised of his responsibilities and to ensure all greyhounds are boxed correctly in future.
