Tear Away Jock was quick to begin. Gunfighter and Allen Varmint collided soon after the start, checking Gunfighter. Merriview Boss and Gunfighter collided approaching the first turn. Aston Viva, Barked Off, Monster Deeds and Allen Varmint collided on the first turn, checking Monster Deeds and Allen Varmint. Allen Varmint and Gunfighter collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Merriview Boss and Aston Viva collided on the home turn, checking Aston Viva.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs. A. Kampman, the trainer of Catsford Allan regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Catsford Allan last raced on 1st August 2016. Mrs. Kampman stated that the greyhound had been on an extended spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Catsford Allan trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 27.8kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.98, the greyhound won by a margin of three lengths. Catsford Allan was Cleared.
