This meeting was deemed hot weather affected.  At the conclusion of kennelling the outside temperature was 25.3 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees.

Cathy's Tiger was a late scratching at 8:14am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Haywire Boy and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 10:31am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer S Webster was fined the sum of $100.

Princess Sage and Fance De Kahn were slow to begin.  Shogun Sammy crossed to the outside soon after the start, colliding with Fancy De Kahn, Colombian Coffee and Wishing Angel, and checking Fancy De Kayn as a result.  Downtown Babe crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Shogun Sammy checked off Wishing Angel at the 250m mark.  Fancy De Kahn checked off the heels of Shogun Sammy at the 200m mark.  Shogun Sammy and Fancy De Kahn collided at the 100m mark.

Miller's Court and Fear Valley were slow to begin.  Zahhak Zac and Fear Valley collided soon after the start.  Jaso and Zahhak Zac collided approaching the 250m mark.  No Quarter Given and Jaso collided at the 250m mark.  No Quarter Given checked off Jaso approaching the 200m mark.  Zahhak Zac and Sweet Shiraz collided at the 200m mark.  Miller's Court, Zahhak Zac and Sweet Shiraz collided at the 150m mark, checking Zahhak Zac.  Cousin's By Five and Fear Valley collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to D Jensen, the representative of Massive Attack, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Massive Attack last raced on 18 November 2016 and is returning after a metacarpal injury.  Mr. Jensen also declared a new weight of 36.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Massive Attack last raced at 37.9 kgs.

Born Molly and Enchanting Image collided soon after the start.  Harvey Mills and Blackjack’s Back collided soon after the start.  Enchanting Image and Blind Dynasty collided at the 300m mark, checking Bling Dynasty.  Blackjack’s Back checked off Harvey Mills approaching the 250m mark.  Bling Dynasty and Born Molly collided at the 250m mark.

Irish Connection and Regional Chief were slow to begin.  Major Nippa, Nitro Power and Acquainted collided soon after the start, checking Nitro Power.  Nitro Power checked off Regional Chief at the 300m mark.  Major Nippa, Acquainted and Amlin Prince collided several times at the 250m mark.  Regional Chief faltered at the 200m mark severely checking Nitro Power which lost considerable ground, Regional Chief tailed off as a result.  Major Nippa and Acquainted collided at the 150m mark and approaching the winning post.   Chubby Lane raced wide throughout the event.

Regional Chief was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg pencil/whip injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Nitro Power was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Vapour Lee and Unbackable were slow to begin.  Bert’s Special and Unbackable collided soon after the start.  Never Satisfied and Vista King collided soon after the start.  Unbackable checked off the heels of Bert’s Special at the 300m mark.  Never Satisfied checked off the heels of Unbackable at the 200m mark.  Vista King checked off the heels of Like A Fancy at the 200m mark.  Vapour Lee checked off the heels of Like A Fancy at the 150m mark.

Daintree Dynamo and Zed Merrett were slow to begin and collided several times soon after the start.  Zed Merrett checked off the heels of Daintree Dynamo approaching the 300m mark.  Daintree Dynamo checked off the heels of Barra Johnson at the 250m mark.  Beer On Tap and Acola Rimfire collided at the 150m mark, checking Beer On Tap.  Beer On Tap checked off Acola Rimfire at the 50m mark.

Lonnie Lad, Xavier Kelton and Strummer Express collided soon after the start, checking all greyhounds.  Paula’s Delight and Pat Me Again collided at the 300m mark.  My Baby Porscha lost ground at the 100m mark. 

My Baby Porscha was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 12.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a sacro-iliac injury and a left hindleg calf muscle injury, a 14day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to A Powell, the trainer of Wet And Wild, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Wet And Wild last raced on 17 December 2016 and is returning after time off to allow the greyhound to return to a suitable grade.
