Steward's Report
Supplementary Report:
Sandown 16th March, 2017 Pursuant to GAR 75 trainer of Aston Gisele Mrs. J Greenough advised stewards that the greyhound had sustained a torn right back muscle injury in race 11 and was unlikely to race for 60 days.
Gundal Schoppy was a late scratching at 2:31pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injury to the left shin. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Daintree Prinz was very slow to begin (4L). Goodnight Sienna was very slow to begin (5L). Toby's Taxi, Lady Charlotte and Warming Galo's collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Lady Charlotte and Warming Galo's and severely checking Toby's Taxi. Toby's Taxi checked off Daintree Prinz on the first turn. Toby's Taxi galloped on the heels of Warming Galo's on the first turn checking Warming Galo's. Lady Charlotte checked off Gripe on the home turn severely checking Tiger Cabang.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. S. Donlon, the trainer of the greyhound Goodnight Sienna regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Goodnight Sienna was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Goodnight Sienna with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Donlon pleaded not guilty to the charge,Goodnight Sienna was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
