Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Gary George, the trainer of Intensify, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Intensify last raced on 3 November 2016. Mr George stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Intensify.
Mako was slow to begin. Oscorp Bale, Southwood Max and Royal Cosmic collided approaching the first turn, checking Southwood Max. Oscorp Bale, Royal Cosmic and Invented collided approaching the first turn, checking Royal Cosmic and Invented. Intensify checked off Oscorp Bale approaching the first turn. Forever Merry, Intensify and Mako collided on the first turn, severely checking Intensify which fell as a result. Forever Merry and Royal Cosmic collided approaching the home turn, checking Royal Cosmic. Royal Cosmic raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Intensify was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg thigh injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Royal Cosmic was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
