Sutre Sizzler was slow to begin.  Blue Magnum and Euro Silk collided soon after the start.  Monkey Year and Discovered collided on the first turn, checking Monkey Year.  Blue Magnum and Euro Silk collided on the first turn.  Blue Magnum checked off Euro Silk approaching the home turn.  Monkey Year raced wide entering the home straight.

Alpha David was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right hindleg pencil/whip injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gary George, the trainer of Intensify, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Intensify last raced on 3 November 2016.  Mr George stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.

Mako was slow to begin.  Oscorp Bale, Southwood Max and Royal Cosmic collided approaching the first turn, checking Southwood Max.  Oscorp Bale, Royal Cosmic and Invented collided approaching the first turn, checking Royal Cosmic and Invented.  Intensify checked off Oscorp Bale approaching the first turn.  Forever Merry, Intensify and Mako collided on the first turn, severely checking Intensify which fell as a result.  Forever Merry and Royal Cosmic collided approaching the home turn, checking Royal Cosmic.  Royal Cosmic raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Intensify was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg thigh injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Royal Cosmic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Lont, the trainer of Magic Ambush, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Magic Ambush last raced on 15 October 2016.  Mr Lont stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the right back muscle.  Mr Lont also declared a new weight of 33.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Magic Ambush last raced at 31.6 kgs.
