Steward's Report
Select Casey was quick to begin. Lakeview Maisey, Beetee and Zipping Foy were slow to begin. Lakeview Maisey eased soon after the start and subsequently tailed off. Lakeview Bruta and Beetee collided on the first turn. Lady Ching and Doused In Mud collided on the first turn checking Doused In Mud. Select Casey and Lady Ching collided approaching the home turn. Doused In Mud checked off Zipping Foy on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. H. Whelan, the representative of the greyhound Lakeview Maisey regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start. Lakeview Maisey was vetted and after being re vetted following event 4 it was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) stewards charged Lakeview Maisey with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Whelan pleaded guilty to the charge. Lakeview Maisey was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
