Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Ward, the handler of Elite Stress regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Elite Stress last raced on 2nd of November, 2016. Mr Ward stated that Elite Stress is returning to racing from a spell. Mr Ward aslo declared a new weight of 30.3 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Elite Stress last raced at 31.7kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Mistel Allen.
Bob On and Mistel Allen were quick to begin. Krank Panda checked off Elite Stress approaching the first turn. Rocket Riley and Krank Panda collided on the first turn, checking Krank Panda. Show Bag Carter and Elite Stress collided approaching the home turn, checking Show Bag Carter. Rocket Riley and Krank Panda raced wide in the home straight.
Krank Panda was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
MEETING COMMENTS
Tammy Baxter was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Mahlo Hero trialled over the 400m from box eight, with a weight of 25.2kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters.The time of the trial was 22.80, the greyhound was beaten/won by a margin of 0.15. Mahlo Hero was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) - Mahlo Hero trialled as above and was cleared to race in blinkers.
