Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Sinclair, the handler of Dream Wave regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dream Wave last raced on 31st October 2016.  Mr. Sinclair stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season.

Belron Brum was slow to begin.  Regis Moment, Perfect Hours, Any Other Union and Sixty Three collided soon after the start checking all four greyhounds. Regis Moment checked off Perfect Hours approaching the first turn severely checking Regis Moment.  Any Other Union and Sixty Three collided on the first turn checking Sixty Three and severely checking Belron Brum which stumbled as a result.  Serious Magic and Amaroo Loco collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Amaroo Loco checked off Serious Magic on the home turn checking Any Other Union.  Amaroo Loco and Sixty Three collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Regis Moment and Sixty Three collided entering the home straight checking Belron Brum, Regis Moment and Sixty Three and causing all three greyhounds to race wide.  Belron Brum and Sixty Three collided in the home straight.  Belron Brum raced wide in the home straight.

Any Other Union was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to its right hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Really Magic was a late scratching at 11:41am due to late-arrival (GAR 31).  Trainer, Mr. I. Dann was fined the sum of $100.

Lido's Boy was slow to begin.  Dark Avenger and Choclotto collided approaching the first turn checking Dark Avenger.  No Road and Chocolotto collided approaching the first turn checking Choclotto.  Uncool Albert and Choclotto collided approaching the first turn.  Fallen Star and Lido's Boy collided on the first turn severely checking Fallen Star and causing No Road to check off Fallen Star; No Road and Uncool Albert were severely checked as a result.  Fallen Star raced wide in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Haigh, the trainer of Heston Lodge regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Heston Lodge last raced on 1st July 2016.  Ms. Haigh stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Heston Lodge trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.97.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 23 lengths.  Heston Lodge was not cleared.  Stewards directed that the greyhound be vetted following the trial.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Haigh, the trainer of Cooler Colour regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Cooler Colour last raced on 14th May 2016.  Mr. Haigh stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cooler Colour trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 5, weight 26.5kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.97.  The greyhound won by a margin of 7.25 lengths.  Cooler Colour was cleared.
